Both fighters exchange, Will Hefferman clinches with Dave Reily & pins to cage. Dave Reily stomps the foot of his opponent, but eventually gets taken to the ground.

Will Hefferman attempts a kimura from half guard, but Dave Reily quickly retracts his arm. Will Hefferman progresses to sidemount, but Dave Reily  manages to regain half guard. Will Heffermanattempts a kimura for a second time, and once again it fails and Will Hefferman moves to side control.

Will Hefferman softens Dave Reily up with some ground and pound, and in a change of fortune, Dave Reily manages to take wills back and secures a rear naked choke in the closing seconds of round one.
